City of Angels is a beautiful and quixotic love story. Inspire by the Modern classic, "Wing Of Desire", written by Wim Wenders, Richard Reitinger, and Peter Handke. The film stars the charming and elusive Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas) as Seth, one of the messenger from God who hover over los Angeles silent and unseen. Observing day-to-day life of people, listening to their thoughts, comforting them in their times of pain and distress and taking them to the afterlife. While going about his daily duties he come across a hospital operating room, where Maggie Rice a heart surgeon played by the beautiful and attractive Meg Ryan ( When Harry Met Sally...) has just fail to revive her patient. He see her pain and grief. Seth longed to comfort her. He tell his celestial colleague, Cassiel play by Andre Braugher ( Homicide: Life On The Street) about her. Yearning to become closer to Maggie he makes himself visible to her by acting as a visitor of one of her patients, Messinger played by Dennis Franz (NYPD Blues) but find out that she has a boyfriend, Jordan played by Canadian actor Colm Foere (Face/Off) As Maggie grows more interested and emotionally captivated by Seth she soon find herself torn between her relationship with Jordan and her indescribable attraction to Seth. But because Seth is a celestial body, he's incapable of truly loving her, And he faces a difficult choice--to spent eternity as an angel or giving up his divine existence for a love that will last forever.
